    Before you buy another click, look at what happens to the inquiries you already get. In most plumbing shops the biggest losses are not at the top of the funnel. They are in a call that got a name but not a county, a scope video that never got sent, a quote that sat for a week during blowout season, and a dispatch board nobody reads backward. One metro will never give you enough volume to prove a small change in a split test, which is fine, because the leaks here are large enough to see without one. Find them, rank them by money, fix them in order.

    Addresses across this metro carry city names that do not match the jurisdiction, and your intake has to catch that before a truck is promised.

    Denver is a consolidated city and county, and the places around it are separate. Plenty of properties carry a Denver mailing address while sitting outside it, and plenty of callers describe themselves as being in Denver when they are in Arapahoe or Adams County.

    Ask for the cross street or the county at intake, not at dispatch. Whether a job needs a permit, which crew covers it, and how long the drive takes all follow from the answer, and requirements vary by jurisdiction and are worth confirming with the local building department.

    Add the jurisdiction as a field in your call log, not as a note in a comment box. A field can be counted. A note cannot.

    Then check your booked work against it monthly. Most shops discover they are winning one county and losing another, and no metro wide report shows that.

    Blowout season buries your high ticket calls under fifteen minute jobs

    Outdoor water work arrives in two compressed windows here, and an unprepared intake spends those weeks answering the cheapest calls in the business.

    During those weeks a sewer line inquiry or a heater replacement can sit in the same queue as a fifteen minute blowout and get the same treatment. Route them differently. A triage question at hello, asking what kind of work the caller needs, is enough to separate the lines.

    Consider a separate booking path for seasonal small work, whether that is an online scheduler or a callback list handled outside peak hours.

    Staff for the window rather than for the average month. The overflow cost of one missed heater quote generally exceeds the cost of extra phone coverage for two weeks.

    The sewer scope video that never got sent is your most expensive open loop

    Line work along the Front Range gets sold in the gap between the camera and the decision, and most shops leave that gap empty.

    Soil that moves with moisture keeps buried lines in conversation here, and a homeowner who has just watched a scope is frightened, uncertain and about to ask three friends what they think.

    If the video, the stills and a written summary do not reach them the same day, the next contractor's version becomes the one they remember. Make sending it a step on the job, with a name attached, not a favor a tech does when he remembers.

    Write the summary in plain language and keep it careful. Describe what the camera showed, lay out the repair options, and say that structural questions belong to a licensed engineer. Never diagnose the property in writing.

    Then schedule the follow up before the truck leaves the driveway. A decision this size rarely gets made on the first day, and an unchased quote is a job you already paid to find.

    Replacement quotes go cold on details the homeowner does not know how to ask about, and answering them early converts more than discounting does.

    Combustion appliance setup behaves differently at this elevation, and homeowners have usually heard something vague about it. They will not ask directly. They will say they want to think about it.

    Get ahead of it in the quote. Explain in general terms what changes at altitude, point to the manufacturer's instructions for the specific unit, and note that requirements vary and are worth confirming with the local building department.

    Include what the job involves beyond the box: venting, the state of the existing connections, cleanup, haul away, and what happens if something unexpected turns up behind the old unit.

    Track the reasons quotes are declined. If price is the reason on a quarter of them and uncertainty is the reason on the rest, cutting price fixes the smaller problem.

    Count booked jobs per hour of drive time, not per call answered

    In a metro this spread out, the honest productivity number includes the windshield, and most reporting excludes it.

    A job in Golden or out toward the foothills can consume the part of a day that would have held two closer ones. Counted per call, it looks the same as a job in Englewood. Counted per hour, it does not.

    Add drive time to your outcome data and read booked revenue against it by area. Some shops find an entire slice of their coverage map is running at break even.

    The fix is rarely to stop serving a place. It is usually a minimum ticket for that area, a scheduling rule that batches those trips, or a trip charge that gets stated up front.

    Add an outcome code for work you declined and why. Refusals are information, and a shop that cannot count them cannot tell a capacity problem from a demand problem.

    License numbers belong in advertising, as with the other trades. The more useful local variable is that water source, water chemistry and sewer versus septic service differ between neighboring municipalities, which changes which problems a plumber is actually called about and therefore what the page should be about.
