A remodeling site built for homeowners who search at odd hours

Most remodeling sites in this valley are built to impress other designers. The visitor is doing something else entirely. They are on a phone, often late at night, often already holding your name from a neighbor, and they are trying to answer three questions fast: do you work where I live, roughly what does this cost, and how badly will this disrupt my house. Our argument is that every design decision on the page should serve those three questions, and that the form exists to collect the two or three facts that decide whether a site visit is worth your estimator's afternoon.

People here name their village before they name their city

A service list built on city names reads as wrong to a homeowner whose mailing address says Las Vegas and whose house is not in the City of Las Vegas.

Much of the developed valley sits in unincorporated Clark County. Somebody in Enterprise, Paradise or Spring Valley knows that, or at least knows the name of their community. Henderson and North Las Vegas are separate cities and their residents are used to being forgotten by valley wide businesses.

So write the coverage line in the language people use. Summerlin, Green Valley, Anthem, Centennial Hills, Silverado Ranch, Spring Valley, Henderson, North Las Vegas. Put it in the first screen, next to what you actually do and your price posture.

A simple map graphic does more here than a paragraph. Somebody who cannot find their own neighborhood in the first ten seconds leaves and calls the next company on the list.

A large share of your form fills land at two in the morning

In a town of night shifts your site is often the only part of the company that is awake, so the confirmation screen has to carry the conversation alone.

Design the after submit moment as carefully as the form. Say who will call, when, and what happens on that call. Send the same thing by text and email immediately, because an inquiry left in silence overnight goes shopping by breakfast.

Give the visitor a second path. A scheduling tool that shows real openings converts a night shift worker better than a promise to call back at a vague hour, and it removes the phone tag that kills momentum.

If your phones are staffed outside business hours, say so plainly and put the number where a thumb can reach it. If not, do not advertise it. A broken promise on the first contact is the most expensive kind.

One checkbox about the association saves two weeks later

The form should collect the facts that decide fit and schedule, and nothing else.

For this trade the useful fields are short: which room, the community or neighborhood, roughly when they want to start, a budget band as a set of ranges rather than an open box, and whether anything has to move such as a wall, a window or a drain. Add one question asking whether the home is in a homeowners association.

That last field matters because association approval generally applies to work touching an exterior wall, window or roof vent, and rules differ by community. Knowing it on day one changes how you sequence the job and what you tell the client about timing.

Keep the visible form to a handful of fields. Ask the rest on the phone or on the confirmation page, once the person has already committed. Every extra field on a phone screen costs you inquiries you will never see.

Show the tract bath that matches half of Silverado Ranch, not a magazine set

Recognition converts better than aspiration in neighborhoods built from a short list of repeated floor plans.

Newer valley housing repeats. The same oversized garden tub, the same cultured marble top, the same glass box shower appear street after street. A visitor who sees that exact bathroom, before and after, understands instantly that you have done their house.

Label projects by community rather than by style category. Older homes near Paradise deserve their own set, because a 1960s bath and a 2006 tract bath are different jobs and mixing them makes both look generic.

Show some of the middle of the job as well as the finished shot. Open walls, subfloor, the plumbing rough. Homeowners here are wary of contractors who only show glamor photography. Get the homeowner's written okay before publishing any home.

Renderings and 360 tours earn their weight only if the phone can open them

Heavy visual proof is the strongest asset on a remodeling site and the fastest way to make it unusable.

Serve modern image formats, size images for the screen that requests them, and lazy load everything below the first screen. Skip the autoplay video hero. Every third party script you add, from chat widgets to review carousels to tag managers, competes with your own photographs for the same connection.

Test on a mid range Android phone on a cellular connection, not on the office laptop. That is the device your buyer is holding.

Judge speed on field data from Search Console rather than a single lab score. A site that looks fine in a test and stalls in a driveway loses inquiries you will never be able to count.

Publish the weeks without a kitchen, because that is the objection nobody types

Disruption decides this purchase as much as price does, and almost no remodeling site addresses it directly.

Put your process on its own page: design, selections, permit, approvals, demolition, rough in, install, punch list. Give honest ranges for the stages you control and say plainly which stages depend on suppliers, the local building department or an association review.

Answer the daily living questions. Where does the temporary kitchen go, how do you control dust, what hours does the crew work, where does the dumpster sit and who clears it with the association. Those answers reduce the number of nervous calls after you sign.

Put your Nevada contractor license number, a real physical address and a real phone number in the footer of every page. What your license class permits is worth confirming with the state board or your own counsel, and a site should never overstate it.

    Questions we get

Do we need a separate landing page for paid traffic?
Yes, at least for your highest value job types. A homeowner who clicked an ad about a tub to shower conversion should land on a page about that conversion, not on a general services page. The main site serves people who already have your name, and those two audiences want different things.
Should we show prices on the site?
Publishing a starting range for your common project types filters out the people who were never going to hire you and reduces the calls you do not want. Present it as a range with what drives it, and say clearly that a firm number follows a site visit. Vague price talk generally costs more inquiries than an honest range does.
WordPress or one of the drag and drop builders?
The platform matters far less than the image handling, the form, and who can update the site without calling an agency. Most remodelers are served fine by either. Pick the one your team will actually keep current, and make sure you own the domain, the hosting account and the content.
Is a chat widget worth adding?
Only if a human answers it during the hours it is visible. An unanswered chat bubble is worse than none, and every widget costs you page speed. If your buyers are contacting you at odd hours, a scheduling tool usually beats a chat box that sends an apology.
How many finished projects do we need photographed before launch?
Enough to cover your main job types and at least two or three communities you serve, with before and after for each. Quality and relevance beat quantity. Eight well documented projects across Summerlin, Henderson and the older valley do more than forty unlabeled hero shots.

    Rules that affect your marketing

Work that disturbs paint in housing built before 1978 brings federal lead-safe certification and disclosure obligations, which affects a meaningful share of older coastal stock. Permitting and inspection sequencing is municipal, and in condominium buildings an association's own approval process frequently governs timing more than the building department does.
